The Belief of Abraham

Introduction

Welcome. I am a servant of Elohim who would like to share thoughts I have according to the whole of all Scriptures. My goal is to put forth scripture and my understanding of them in hope of producing thoughts in others and interaction so that we as a people will be better through a multitude of witnesses. I do not believe any of us have it all. We were all created for a purpose and a destiny to fulfill. Certainly, we are not all created with the same destiny and purpose (Isa. 45:7). Because of this, we all need each other to be able to fulfill our individual parts in accomplishing the restoration of all things (Acts 3. Having said the above, what is impossible with man is possible with Elohim (Luke 18:27). What part we play as a chosen people, Yisrael, is about our history and future as recorded in Scripture. It is an ongoing thing till Yahushua comes out of His place to remove evil, punish the nations that have oppressed His people (Isa. 26:21) and bring Israel (Yisrael) back to the land promised to Abraham.

I want to preface all this with; I am not a scholar, a linguist, skilled writer, or speaker. My hopes are that because of that, this information presented will be something that a person that is not a scholar, linguist, skilled writer, or speaker can understand. I hope the following will help people at all levels see how we can get deeper than the surface through the resources available to us. I will recommend the reading of books and listening to certain people that are scholars and skilled writers, that can deepen our understandings of the scriptures.

The Belief of Abraham

The belief of Abraham is paramount to being all that we were created to be, and the fulfilling of our destiny as children of Eloah. It is our starting point for becoming a light to the nations, being imagers of our Father in Heaven (Avinu ba shamayim) Eloah and His Son (Yahushua).

Abraham’s beliefs as witnessed by his actions are as follows. He believed that Eloah was the source of all that exists. He believed that He was in 100% control of His creation 100% of the time.

When Abraham was told to leave the land of his birth, leaving his inheritance behind. The Hebrew is lech lecha, meaning get up and go. This is the same thing that is said when He is told to take Yitshaq into the land of Moriah to the Mount to offer him. This is where later; Solomon’s Temple was erected. In both cases, as said above, he got up and went the next morning.

Abraham never doubted, even after waiting 25 years to receive the son promised to him. Again, when he was told to take his promised son and offer him up as an ascending offering; he did not delay but rose early the next morning and departed to the place he was commanded to go to offer him. He had to have believed that if he did offer him, Elohim would bring him back from the dead. The witness is when he saw the mountain where he was to offer his son Yitshaq, Abraham said to his young men that were with them “stay here with the donkey while the boy and I go over there and worship and come back to you. He told Yitshaq “Elohim will provide the lamb for the burnt (olah or ascending) offering” (see Gen. 22).

If we can truly believe that our Father in heaven is in total control of His creation all the time and all we have to do is wait for Him to guide our way, then we can have total shalom under any conditions. That shalom is our light to all those that see it, especially in the dark days that we are now in. The natural result of this kind of belief is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, uprightness, gentleness and self-control (Gal. 5:22).

The life of myself and my wife became so much better when we realized this and quit getting ahead of Elohim. We do not know our exact destiny that He created us for, but He does. So, if we wait and let Him guide our every step, we will be fulfilling that which He created us to do. Submit yourself to Elohim and resist satan and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

Abraham was chosen to be the Father of a Nation that was declared a first-born Nation (Exodus 4:22). That Nation (known as Yisrael) came through Abraham, Yitshaq and Yaakob (who was renamed Yisrael Gen 35:10). Yisrael would be a first-born nation of People chosen to do what Adam was commanded to do in the beginning. Their job was and is to subdue the world, bringing all that will come into obedience, to Eloah (our Father in Heaven) through Yahushua His Son. Then, as His People going forward being obedient to His commands. Our ultimate goal is to be in His Image.

The order of the first-born is to be a Priest, Sovereign and Judge to his family. This job is complete servitude. He serves his family as a Priest by emulating the values of Our Father in Heaven, teaching them the Torah (teachings, instructions) of Our Father in Heaven. As a Sovereign (King) by protecting them from their enemies and evil.  As a Judge by judging matters within the Torah of Our Father in Heaven.

Unfortunately, Yisrael (HIS chosen People), just as Adam, has failed to accomplish this goal in the past.

This website is about the “restoration of all things, of which Elohim spoke through the mouth of all HIS set apart (Holy) prophets since of old” (quoted from Acts 3:21). It is about what has happened that has produced our present situation in this world, and what is predicted to happen which will restore this world. It is also about biblical principles established in scripture and they can help us understand scripture better. The focus is on Genesis 1:1 to the New Yarushalayim.

I will have some small articles that are about biblical principals that we can see throughout scripture. Understanding these principles can be a huge help for discerning what is going on in the Word (scriptures). I will begin the smaller articles with events in the beginning of Genesis. Isaiah says in Chapters 46 and 48 that He (YHWH) has told us the end from the beginning. This is a clue that we need to know what was going on in the beginning, to be able to discern what we need to know in the end times. I will also explore 1 Thes. 5:1-6 that tells us we should know the day and hour of YHWH’s return to punish the nations that have oppressed us and bring us back to the land promised to Abraham and his descendants. There is a small article “Matthew 24” that explains why Yahushua says there is a day and hour that nobody knows, not even the Son or the angels.

The reason I have done it this way, is when I have been sharing information with groups of people I began to see where they tend to stumble. It was because they were not aware of a very important principle that had previously been established in the scriptures.

Duet. 19:15 One witness does not rise up against a man concerning any crookedness or any sin that he commits. By the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses a matter is established.

This scripture itself is established by a second witness in Duet. 17:6. The only way we can discuss and challenge each other about scripture is with two to three witnesses in the scriptures. This is not as easy as it sounds because of the translations that are biased. So, another thing that I will do on occasion is point out translational errors, using the oldest or most reliable Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek manuscripts we have available to us today. Because of doctrinal bias or preconceived notions people have said “I don’t believe that” even though I didn’t even say what they disbelieved. I had just read it straight out of the bible. So, it seems good to me to cover these subjects that seem to be controversial by producing two to three witnesses that establish these principles before getting into the middle of a long subject and having a disruption of this type come up.

There are two very important things I want to share with everyone. You can never elevate a situation if you are being defined by it. What manifests against the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians Chapter Five is a spirit of the adversary. If anger erupts and you get angry back, you are feeding the spirit of the adversary. You cannot elevate your flesh if fleshly matters define you instead of Torah defining you. Do not let the spirits of the adversary make you become negative, that is exactly what they want. Stay “A” emotional and get Shalom then deal with the situation. Keep in mind that we are not fighting flesh and blood but spirts and principalities of evil.

Next is, scripture cannot be understood outside of the preceding history. Almost all prophetic chapters in scripture start with the history of what has gone on and then proceeds to the prophetic. With the tools we have now anyone can google and find out the history of any of the books of prophecy. Without this history you will not know who is who when different kings and rulers are being spoken of. We need to know these things to properly understand what is going on at that time because what they did right or wrong is what we really need to learn so we know what we should do when that situation presents itself again. Knowing what was going on at the time of any particular prophet really helps to understand what that prophet is saying.

Notes

For quoted bible references I use the Institute of Scriptural Research (ISR) Scriptures 2009 translation unless otherwise noted. I like it because, for the most part, it is a literal translation. The Father’s name appears in the Hebrew letters. To save confusion for those not familiar with Hebrew, I use the English equivalent letters YHWH. This Name can refer to the Father and the Son because Yahushua tells us in John Chapter 17 that His Father has given Him His Name. For three other witnesses see Mark 11:9, Matt. 23:39, Psalms 118:26. So, we must look at the context to know who is speaking or being spoken of. When referring to Our Heavenly Father I will mostly use Eloah, the singular of Elohim or Avinu (which means our Father). I like to use Avinu instead of Avi (my Father) because we are Yisrael, so He is our Father in Heaven. I want to express the unity.

I try to use names and terms that are familiar to most everyone, but I feel in some places it is good to learn some of the Hebrew names and words. Most bible translations use Lord and God in place of Adonai, Eloah, Elohim and YHWH. There is no clarity as to who is referred to and this custom is clearly against Torah (Duet. 4:2, Proverbs 30:6 & Rev. 22:18-19). Another reason is the multiple verses that say “in the latter days you will know my name again and you will again call me by my name” (Jer. 16:21 & 23:27). In Jer. 23:26-27 He says at the end of verse 27 “as your fathers forgot My Name for Baal” (Baal in Hebrew is Lord).

People have different ideas as to how to pronounce The Father and His Sons Names in Hebrew. For instance, it seems that the most popular ways to say Our Father’s Name are, Yahweh, Yahuah and Yehovah. I am certainly not dogmatic about this but find it easier by just using YHWH, the English equivalent for the Hebrew letters Yod Hey Vav Hey. The Son’s name is the same as Joshua in most bibles, which is Yehoshua or Yahushua in English letters. I have chosen the latter, hope it does not offend to many. Eloah always refers to Our Father in Heaven.

I have tried to hold to all the above, but I have written these articles over many years and may vary in some ways as to whether I use Hebrew or English because of the intended audience at the time I wrote that particular article. I am going through all these articles now and trying to standardize them as much as possible but did not want to delay opening this website for that.

Some of these articles were taken from my notes and have not been edited, please excuse any grammar problems. I will replace them with edited copies as soon as I get them. As time goes on I will add to this list

The following are Hebrew names and terms I will use and their English equivalent.

Hebrew NameEnglish Equivalent
Avinu ba’shamayimOur Father in Heaven, His title is Eloah or Elohim (plural of Eloah). Both Eloah and Elohim are translated (as said above) as God or Lord in most all English translations. We can see that The Father and Son are both referred to as Elohim in John Chapter 1 and Psalms 82.
Avinu Our Father, referring to our Father in Heaven
Chava Eve
Eloah Our Father in Heaven
Elohim Our Father in Heaven working with or through a being, heavenly or earthly. Usually, Yahushua.

Shalom and Enjoy.

I will monitor the emails that come in and am always open to more understanding and discussion of points that others view differently. I am not into ugly debates but love exploring the scriptures with others. There is never a time that those with a love for the Word studying together do not learn more.

Shalom
